Melodies

Melody, sweet melody! This series of abstract watercolour paintings is part of my “colour play” work and it experiments with different palettes to explore the beauty of the crescendo. The structure and movement of the vertical strokes represents notes and rhythm- in a way, the reliable sounds of the piece. The disruptions and highlights within each melody give you a sense of the vibration of the tones and the intensity of the internal sound, as perceived by the viewer or listener. I used watercolour to represent the fluidity and effortless harmony within each design. Take a look below and see if you can hear the melody too!
