I’ve been experimenting with palette knives on wood panels and playing with how the paint can be applied on the rigid surface. It’s less “painting” and more moving paint around! It’s very liberating.
These florals turned out pretty much just as I imagined, which is great, because it means I was actually able to render a mental image- this is not common, despite what you might think. Ideas are not purely visual, they have depth and sometimes my ideas look like animation in my mind. Creating a static rendering can be difficult and usually requires several iterations before they are satisfying.
