What a treat to use a palette knife for this creation! I love how there is no paint waste using a palette knife. You are pushing around little mounds of colour until they form something satisfying and the whole surface becomes the palette. This piece was a makeover of an older piece on canvas but the mounted canvas didn’t give as much stiffness for the knife work as I would have liked. Next time I’ll have to use a wooden board or something.
Grey skies and green earth- this painting shows what welcomes me home from a trip away. Coming home to Vancouver is so full of green and sometimes a cool, refreshing rain too.
